1135 E 4th, Long Beach

Website Portfolio Description

Rolen Construction is currently completing the transformation of existing garage spaces into two new Accessory Dwelling Units (ADUs) at a multifamily residential property located at 1135 E 4th Street in Long Beach, California.

The project consists of the adaptive reuse of underutilized garage structures to create two modern residential units within an established apartment community. By converting existing parking areas into housing, the development increases residential capacity while maximizing the value and efficiency of the property without expanding the building footprint.

The project required extensive coordination with local agencies, design professionals, and inspectors to satisfy evolving code requirements throughout construction. As work progressed, additional electrical and plumbing corrections requested by the City resulted in schedule adjustments that extended the inspection and closeout process.

Currently in final inspection phase, the project represents another successful example of urban infill housing development and adaptive reuse construction, providing additional housing opportunities in one of Long Beach’s established residential neighborhoods.
